Technical Specifications

So you're a bit of a tech-nut? Good for you! Here be a full & comprehensive break-down of our core infrastructure, no holds barred...

CloudHeartland Core Infrastructure

  • CloudHeartland chooses Citrix XenServer as its virtual server Hypervisor and HP Proliant for its physical server infrastructure.
  • Servers are connected to HP storage comprising multiple disks configured in RAID1+0 via redundant controllers and multiple Fibre Channel connections.
  • TrendMicro Antivirus is deployed across all servers.
  • Virtual servers are automatically and continuously load balanced across physical servers. If a production physical server host fails, virtual servers continue to run without any impact.
  • Redundant power supplies are installed in servers and storage with power supplies split across “A” and “B” power feeds.

Power Infrastructure

  • Power security: "A" and "B" power feeds per rack.
  • Different distribution boards and UPS units.
  • Our generator can power the entire data centre indefinitely.
  • Monthly routine systems testing and maintenance
  • 2x 16A or 2x 32A feeds per rack.
  • Secured, standby 500KvA 2506 Perkins diesel generator, housed inside the facility (on 24/7 SLA for repairs & refueling).
  • Three Secured, in-line Riello UPS power conditioners, isolation transformers that limits peak voltage (amplitude) and the edge-speed (frequency) of electrical transients between the mains power and the racks PDU's power.

Connectivity and Bandwidth

  • Carrier Neutral data centre.
  • Juniper 10GbE wire-speed core network access.
  • Fibre carriers all have multiple redundant bundles of fibre entering the data centre from different ducts: Vector Communications and Telecom or TelstraCLEAR.
  • Strict cabling standards have been uniformly utilised using T568B configuration.
  • 24/7/365 network monitoring by our Network Operations Center (NOC).
  • Domestic peering for high speed traffic delivery within New Zealand.
  • HD can provide carrier grade or flat rate Internet connectivity via Ethernet.
  • Diverse carriers, you can connect to any or all of these peers from inside our data centre: HD, Fastcom, FX, WxC, APE, WIX, Telecom, Vector Communications, Telstra, Maxnet, Oddessey andVocus.
